Interoperability enables the secure sharing of electronic health information using information systems and / or electronic devices. This facilitates sharing of your health information with an application developer (e.g., Google Health) with your consent. If you select this option, you will be able to use a digital application from a third-party developer to view your health information. The goal of health information exchange is to facilitate access to and retrieval of clinical data to provide a safe, timely, efficient, effective, and equitable patient-centered alternative. The information can also be used by federal public health authorities to assist in the analysis of public health.
In this section you will find relevant information to select a third-party application to access all your health information.
In this section you will find the patient access APIs to create your application
Our members will have access to health records available at MCS. The member may share them with the people who take care of them for better care. MCS has taken important steps to make data more accessible. Sharing your health data avoid repeat tests and treatments, keeping low costs. The member will have the opportunity to access his clinical and non-clinical information through third-party applications of his choice. This initiative enables patients to be better advocates for their own health and to help healthcare providers and health insurance companies, monitor quality trends. The Interoperability and Patient Access final rule (CMS-9115-F) put patients first by giving them access to their health information when they need it most, and in a way, they can best use it. This final rule focused on driving interoperability and patient access to health information by liberating patient data using CMS authority to regulate Medicare Advantage (MA), Medicaid, Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP), and Qualified Health Plan (QHP) issuers on the Federally-facilitated Exchanges (FFEs).
