Interoperability

What is Interoperability?

Interoperability enables the secure sharing of electronic health information using information systems and / or electronic devices. This facilitates sharing of your health information with an application developer (e.g., Google Health) with your consent. If you select this option, you will be able to use a digital application from a third-party developer to view your health information. The goal of health information exchange is to facilitate access to and retrieval of clinical data to provide a safe, timely, efficient, effective, and equitable patient-centered alternative. The information can also be used by federal public health authorities to assist in the analysis of public health.
